Picking ticket definition
/What is a Picking Ticket?
A picking ticket is a list used to gather items to be shipped from a warehouse. The ticket contains the item number and item description, as well as the location code for the bin in which it is stored, the quantity to be picked, and the customer order number. There is also space on the ticket to write the number of units that were actually picked. Picking tickets are typically issued in a sequence that minimizes the travel time of the warehouse staff.
Picking tickets may be issued as electronic records that appear on mobile computers that the warehouse staff carries through the warehouse, directing them where to go for their next picking transaction.

Advantages of Picking Tickets
There are several advantages to using picking tickets, which are as follows:
Picking efficiency. Picking tickets are useful for organizing the picking of inventory for customer orders in the most efficient manner possible. This is especially the case when a ticket is sorted by bin location, so that a picker can locate items in the warehouse as efficiently as possible.
Record update efficiency. When picking tickets are online (usually on a mobile computer), pickers can enter the number of units picked from stock, which automatically updates the inventory records. The result is more accurate inventory records, with updates occurring in real time.
